SEASON 2026-2027 CLASS OFFERINGS

AGES 3-6 (Also, Please See Below for Grades K-3)

Preschool Dance — Ages 3–4

A joyful first step into the world of dance! This class introduces our youngest dancers to basic movement, rhythm, coordination, and musicality through age-appropriate dance activities, creative movement, and lots of imagination. Our goal is to build confidence, independence, and a love of dance in a fun, nurturing environment—because at this age, learning to dance should feel a little bit like magic.

Children’s Ballet — Ages 4–6
A creative introduction to ballet where young dancers begin learning basic ballet technique, terminology, musicality, and classroom skills. Imagination and expressive movement are woven into class to help dancers build a strong foundation while keeping ballet fun and engaging.

Children’s Tap — Ages 4–6 (Limited Enrollment — Early Registration Encouraged)
An upbeat introduction to the sounds and rhythms of tap! Dancers develop basic tap technique, coordination, timing, and musicality while learning how their feet can become part of the music.

Children’s Tumble Hop — Ages 4–6 (Limited Enrollment — Early Registration Encouraged)
Part hip hop, part tumbling, and a whole lot of movement! This energetic class combines age-appropriate hip hop basics with introductory tumbling, coordination, strength, and creative movement.

FOR SCHOOL AGED STUDENTS K-3

Ballet 1 — Grades 1–2
A foundational ballet class that introduces proper technique, terminology, alignment, musicality, and movement quality. Dancers begin building the strength, control, and artistry needed as they progress through their ballet training.

Ballet 2 — Grades 2–3
Building upon foundational ballet skills, dancers continue developing technique, alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and artistry through center work, and movement across the floor.

Jazz 1/2 — Grades 1–3
An energetic introduction to jazz technique combining foundational skills, isolations, turns, jumps, progressions, and choreography. Dancers work on musicality and performance while being encouraged to develop their own style and personality.

Children’s Tap — Ages 5–7 (Limited Enrollment — Early Registration Encouraged)
An upbeat introduction to the sounds and rhythms of tap! Dancers develop basic tap technique, coordination, timing, and musicality while learning how their feet can become part of the music.

Children’s Tap 2
Designed for dancers ready to build upon their beginning tap foundation. Class develops clearer sounds, rhythm, coordination, musicality, and increasingly challenging tap combinations.

Children’s Tumble Hop — Ages 4–6 (Limited Enrollment — Early Registration Encouraged)
Part hip hop, part tumbling, and a whole lot of movement! This energetic class combines age-appropriate hip hop basics with introductory tumbling, coordination, strength, and creative movement.

Children’s Hip Hop — Ages 5–7
A high-energy class introducing young dancers to hip hop movement, rhythm, musicality, and style. Dancers are encouraged to bring their own personality to their movement while developing coordination and confidence.

Youth Hip Hop — Ages 8 & Up
An energetic class exploring hip hop foundations, grooves, rhythm, musicality, choreography, and individual style. Dancers develop confidence and performance quality while being encouraged to bring their own personality to the movement.

AGES 9 – ADULT

Ballet 2/3 — Ages 9–12
A progressive ballet class focused on strengthening technique, alignment, flexibility, balance, musicality, and movement quality. Dancers continue developing both the technical discipline and artistry that are at the heart of ballet.

Ballet/Lyrical — Ages 11 & Up
A blend of ballet technique and lyrical movement that develops control, flexibility, musicality, and expressive performance. Dancers learn to connect technique with emotion and storytelling, allowing movement to become more than just steps.

Ballet 4
An upper-level ballet class emphasizing strong classical technique, alignment, strength, control, flexibility, musicality, and artistry. Dancers are challenged technically while continuing to develop maturity and expression in their movement.

Pointe Warm-Up
A focused supplemental class designed to prepare and strengthen dancers for pointe work. Exercises emphasize proper alignment, foot and ankle strength, articulation, balance, and control to support safe and technically sound pointe training.

Turns, Jumps & Leaps — Ages 13 & Up (younger with permission)
A technique-focused class designed to strengthen turns, jumps, and leaps through proper alignment, control, power, flexibility, and coordination. Dancers work on the mechanics behind each skill while building confidence, consistency, and clean execution.

Youth Jazz — Ages 9–12
A lively technique-based jazz class incorporating turns, jumps, progressions, isolations, flexibility, and choreography. We emphasize clean technique while giving dancers opportunities to explore musicality, style, expression, and performance.

Jazz/Jazz Funk — Ages 11 & Up
This Commercial Jazz class combines the strong technique, sharp movements, turns, leaps, and energetic choreography of traditional jazz with the bold style and attitude of jazz funk. Dancers will explore musicality, rhythm, isolations, and dynamic movement while building confidence, coordination, strength, and performance skills. This upbeat class is perfect for dancers who enjoy expressive choreography influenced by today’s music and popular dance styles.

Teen / Adult Contemporary — Open Level
A welcoming open-level class where teen dancers can explore contemporary movement, musicality, improvisation, storytelling, and choreography. Technique matters—but so does creativity. This class gives dancers room to experiment, take artistic chances, and discover their own movement style.

Contemporary/Jazz — Intermediate Teen/Adult
A high intermediate-level class combining strong jazz technique with contemporary movement and artistry. Dancers are challenged through turns, jumps, floor work, transitions, musicality, and choreography while being encouraged to move beyond simply “doing the steps” and develop their own artistic voice.

Contemporary/Jazz – Advanced Teen/Adult
An advanced class for experienced dancers combining technical precision with artistic exploration. Complex choreography, musicality, dynamics, improvisation, floor work, turns, jumps, and stylistic versatility challenge dancers to become not only stronger technicians, but more individual and expressive artists.

Youth Tap 1 — Ages 9–12
A foundational tap class emphasizing clear sounds, rhythm, timing, coordination, and basic tap vocabulary. Dancers learn to listen to the music—and eventually become part of it.

Youth Tap 2/3 — Ages 9–12
For dancers with previous tap experience, this class explores more intricate rhythms, combinations, footwork, musicality, and performance quality while continuing to strengthen fundamental tap technique.

Tap 3
An intermediate tap class that builds speed, clarity, coordination, rhythmic complexity, and musicality. Dancers work with increasingly challenging combinations while developing confidence, style, and a stronger understanding of tap as both dance and music.

Tap 4 — Advanced
Advanced tap training focused on intricate rhythms, speed, clarity, musicality, improvisation, and complex choreography. Dancers are challenged to think like musicians as well as dancers and to develop their own rhythmic voice.

Youth Hip Hop — Ages 8 & Up
An energetic class exploring hip hop foundations, grooves, rhythm, musicality, choreography, and individual style. Dancers develop confidence and performance quality while being encouraged to bring their own personality to the movement.

Teen / Adult Hip Hop — Open Level
An inclusive, high-energy class focused on hip hop movement, grooves, musicality, choreography, and performance. Different experience levels are welcome, with an emphasis on confidence, individuality, and enjoying the movement.

Small Group Tumbling — Ages 8–11 (Limited Enrollment — Early Registration Encouraged)
A small-group class focused on developing strength, flexibility, coordination, and age-appropriate tumbling skills. Smaller class size allows for more individualized instruction and attention to each dancer’s progress.

Performance Company (Ages 9-18 - younger with permission)
For dancers looking for more opportunities to perform, grow, and be part of a team. Performance Company provides additional choreography and performance experiences beyond regular classes while continuing Velocity’s non-competition philosophy. The focus is on commitment, teamwork, confidence, versatility, and the experience of performing for an audience.

Premier Performance Company (by audition and application - Ages 13 & Up - younger dancers may audition with permission)
Velocity’s more intensive performance and training experience for committed dancers ready to take their development to the next level. Premier Company combines additional training, challenging choreography, performance opportunities, and a higher level of commitment while remaining true to our non-competition philosophy. Dancers are challenged technically and artistically while developing versatility, professionalism, teamwork, and their own unique voice as performers. Premier Company Dancers will also take Ballet 4, and Turns, Jumps & Leaps. The program will included unlimited class time for dancers to also choose to include Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and/or Hip Hop.
